Consolidated knowledge of the alphabet is the first essential ingredient in developing literacy skills and is sometimes overlooked when providing support to learners who have completed the early years.

For over 25 years, I have taught students of all ages and have seen the need to provide support to parents to help them assist their children.
I understand the frustration and concern of both the parents and the children when, after several years of schooling, the child continues to struggle to acquire basic literacy skills. Self esteem and behaviour issues can surface and it can be difficult to know where to turn for help. The links and resources are carefully selected to assist and complement the learning programs.
I recognise that the physical, emotional and intellectual development of a child are all contributing factors to the impact on various stages of learning. Environmental factors such as classrooms, relationships with teachers and peers, and the home environment, also effect learning.
Often in the early stages of schooling, these factors effect the child’s development of literacy knowledge and skills.

Time is limited for busy families and support staff, so my aim is to provide programs that are time and cost effective, with a positive and enjoyable outcome for all concerned.
